Initial Installation of Netgear ex6100 WiFi Range Extender
Netgear range extender increases the distance of existing WiFi network by boosting the internet signal and enhancing the overall signal quality over long distances to cover poor connectivity areas. A WiFi extender repeats the signals from an access point or an existing WiFi router and spread it all over our house or building. This tutorial is a step-by-step easy and handy process on how to setup Netgear extender as an:

Installation of a Netgear WiFi Range Extender
First of all, unbox your range extender and plug it into an electrical outlet halfway between your computer/ laptop or your main router. Then, wait for few minutes for the power LED light on your device to illuminate solid green.
Note: In case the Netgear device did not turn on, then consider pushing the power (On/ Off) button.
Now, on your computer or laptop, view the list of available wireless networks and connect to EX6100. Once you are connected to the network successfully, the Client Link Light on your range extender will turn on automatically. If it doesn’t, unplug your range extender and after few minutes plug it back again.
Next, open a relevant and up-to-date internet browser of your choice and into the URL field type mywifiext. If this URL doesn’t work, go with www.mywifiext.net ex6100.
Once you are done with it, select the SSID (network name) for 2.4GHz and click on continue. Moreover, if you hit on ‘Skip’ icon, ensure that your router is capable of supporting 5GHz band. After that, type the network password and hit on continue. Now, select the SSID (network name) for 5GHz and again hit on continue.
Fill in the network key (passphrase) click on continue and choose the private or public network and hit on continue.
Here, you are supposed to enter the security key of your WiFi range extender and after that, click on continue. Netgear Genie will apply the settings automatically. Now, connect to the extender’s wireless network. Click the continue button and at last, click on finish to complete the installation process.

The Access Point Installation
Firstly, plug your range extender into an electrical outlet and connect it with router/ gateway to the Ethernet port of your device via USB cable. After that, wait for few minutes for the LED lights become solid or amber green. If your device doesn’t turn on, don’t worry and hit the On/ Off (power) button.
Secondly, on your laptop or a computer, you have to view the list of active and available wireless networks and connect to EX6100 signal. Once you are safely connected to the network, the Client Link LED on your device will power/ turn on.
Third, you have to open a web browser and navigate to www.mywifiext.net smart wizard. Your device will detect the internet connection automatically and apply the settings in a hassle-free manner. After a successful section of the internet connection, you have to select whether the wired connection is private or public. Click on continue and after that, enter the security settings for your wireless range extender. Once done click on continue.
Genie will automatically apply the settings. You just have to connect the extender wireless network and click on continue. Finally, hit on finish to complete the installation process.
